Hohner Guitar Models

In this price range, the sound you get from the Hohner HAG250P is quite good, although it does not hold tuning well. As with all nylon-stringed guitars, you will need to give it a week or so to allow the strings to stretch and settle. During this period you will need to retune it often. Also, note that 1/2 sized models do not have the same sound as a full-size model. The range is much smaller than a full size.

Hohner Guitar Models

If you are on a budget, you might be better off looking at the Lyons Classroom 1/2 Sized guitar. The Hohner HAG250P is okay if you are looking for something slightly better quality than a toy that your 5 to 8-year-old can mess around with. But if you are serious about your child learning guitar and if they are planning on taking lessons, spend a bit more money and get something a little better quality.

Of the guitars that we review and recommend, we are honest and impartial in our opinion and offer our readers recommendations based on many hours of research and testing, as well as our own personal experience as parents and guitar enthusiasts.

The design has (sort of) been resurrected by Eastwood Guitars who bought the rights to use the Airline name and design in the early 2000s. Although the new remakes sound great, they are nothing like the originals. The body is chambered mahogany instead of fiberglass, which kind of negates the thing that made those guitars unique.

As The White Stripes gained popularity, many old Res-O-Glas guitars were snatched up and to find one now is difficult. Originally, the model could be ordered from the Montgomery Ward catalog, just like a Silvertone or Kay. The original price tag was $99. This cheap fiberglass guitar found new life at the hands of Jack White and became the core of the lo-fi and abrasive signature tones that propelled The White Stripes to stardom.

Sure, but keep in mind we do not offer the pearloid headstock logo on a lefty, only the black logo.Left-handed models are not stock items, so a waiting period is inevitable. Please contact your local dealer for pricing and delivery times.

Woodwork believed to be Stuart Darkins' work, with Weill pickups fitted. Most of the hardware is typical of early sixties Darkins/Vox manufacture. It also has a bolt on neck, unlike F/W guitars of this era.

I have a very first production mad cat,and they werent made by hohner.! Hohner took them to pos class very quikly and within a couple of years. ( thats 2 ) it was barely recognizable tops eerent flame but blister maple with a body made with maple 1x4s stacked in 2 layers, and walnut inlayed center stripe that is only in the blister top. Only says madcat on peghead. Electroncs were typical ( bad) japanese of the period. My store bought this one ,a59 lespaul junior copy ,and a oasis, alembic style copy ,all with the hs anderson name. Every one a winner, but had a hell of a time selling, and bought this one myself, and used for some years befor prince came on the scene. These guitars were designed in england i thik and wholsaled by david wexler co. In the us the one i have is of the vert highest quality with a golden ( with just a touch of green?). Finish. Again exellent guitar that hohner basically drove into the dirt!!! Imagine that. :S

As befitting of any legendary guitar, Prince's Hohner Mad Cat has inspired countless copies, from cheap Chinese- made versions for $200, to high-end custom builds for $3,000+, to the originals that sell for $7,000 or more.

After many years of people asking us to make a tribute model of Prince's Mad Cat guitar, we've decided to finally pull the trigger. Compared to other manufacturers' attempts, this will be done right, fitting a gap in the market: a Mad Cat tribute at an affordable price range. The final result will be a high-end, professional-quality instrument.
