Satte Pe Satta Remake: A Marathi Version of the Classic Hindi Comedy

Satte Pe Satta is a 1982 Hindi action comedy film starring Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini, Amjad Khan and Ranjeeta Kaur. The film was adapted from Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (1954) and was a huge hit at the box office. The film revolves around seven brothers who live on a farmhouse with their animals and are tamed by a beautiful nurse who marries the eldest brother. The film also features a plot twist involving a lookalike of the eldest brother who is a criminal.

In 2008, Sachin Pilgaonkar, who played the youngest brother in the original film, directed and produced a Marathi remake of Satte Pe Satta titled Aamhi Satpute. The remake starred Sachin Pilgaonkar himself as the eldest brother, along with Ashok Saraf, Supriya Pilgaonkar, Swwapnil Joshi, Atul Parchure and Nirmiti Sawant. The remake followed the same story as the original film, with some changes in the characters and songs. The remake also added a character of the father of the seven brothers, played by Ashok Saraf.

Aamhi Satpute was not as successful as Satte Pe Satta and received mixed reviews from the critics and audiences. However, the film had some memorable moments and songs, such as the title track which was inspired by the nursery rhyme Hickory Dickory Dock. The film also marked the reunion of Sachin Pilgaonkar and Supriya Pilgaonkar, who had won the Nach Baliye dance competition in 2005.
